The ASR office can be seen from a great distance. The refurbishment design for the 84,000 m² office provides the insurer ASR with a new, green energy label. Thanks to the renovations, the office building has risen from energy label G to the sustainable A label. The renovation was a complex and integral project, mainly because the building was refurbished while large parts of it remained in use. The building has undergone tremendous internal and external refurbishment. The large building accommodates many functions, which made the development complex.
Van den Berg Bouwkundigen wrote and adopted an action plan that immediately left Ballast Nedam with the right feeling. During the assignment, that good feeling has also been confirmed. It goes without saying that we are proud of our cooperation and the architectural elaboration of this building.
The building lies at the intersection of traditional and BIM. Although the structure has been developed traditionally, for all kinds of reasons, Van den Berg Bouwkundigen has demonstrated the possibilities of BIM in certain areas. Together with the Ballast Nedam BIM experts, major steps have been taken in this area. ASR's headquarters dates back to the 1970s and was in need of renovation. Renovation proved to be the best option in terms of costs and sustainability. In the Schedule of Requirements, ASR set a concrete sustainability ambition: energy label A and striving for BREEAM 'Excellent'. After completion, the project received the certificate.
